The Challenge
Kojo entered a market dominated by Headspace, Calm, and a hundred clones. They had strong content — expert-led breathwork, sleep sessions, and guided movement — but needed a product that would stand apart on UX alone.
Their brief was clear: "Make it feel like the app is taking care of you." Every animation, every interaction, every screen transition had to feel effortless, warm, and intentional. Not clinical. Not corporate.
Our Solution
We built Kojo from the ground up — UI design, design system, iOS and Android builds, custom animations, and a proprietary breathing visualisation engine that responds to the user's actual breathing rhythm.
The visual language uses deep purples, soft gradients, and space-like depth to create a calm, otherworldly feel. Every micro-interaction was considered. The result is an app users actually open every day — not just when they're stressed.
